Faith at Work Week 4: Midweek Miracle

We have all seen the beggar on the street corner holding a cardboard placard stating, "Hungry and Homeless". How many times have you driven by them, turning your head away if they look your way. Today, do the opposite. Intentionally buy some hot food or a cup of coffee and hand it to the one begging.

Maybe they are pulling a fast one on the unsuspecting. But that is not the point today. Today, this is all about you. Will you actually do something uncomfortable that will cost you?

Faith at Work Week 4: Monday Recap

Are you a person with a faith that stirs you past standing up to sing during the church service? James is quite frank. If there are no deeds accompanying claims to faith, there is a question about the reality of the person's salvation. A quick prayer of salvation at some point in life with no transformation of the heart is worthless.

What can you do this week to show your commitment to love your neighbor? Yes, it will mean going out of your way. And yes, it will probably mean getting messy. But go ahead. Involve yourself in an act of love toward someone who could really use a touch from God.

Faith at Work Week 3: End of Week Refreshment

Zechariah 7:9-10 speaks of mercy and compassion. Who can you show such mercy to today? Do not become judgmental toward someone down of their luck. Act with mercy. Meet a need. You may be that 'angel of mercy' that will give hope to someone at the end of their rope.
